Where do you get your music?

If I were to listen to music now-a-days it is either via YouTube or 8Tracks.com playlists (which is a part of my site now, so I listen to hundreds of playlists a day haha)

For artists whom i want to complete my collection, I go on Amazon. Walmart only carries an artists newest work these days (as do most similar outlets) so it's kind of hard to catch up to a person's discoreography when you want to because it's so hard to find their older music anymore. As a matter of fact, I don't even look in the music sections of places like Walmart anymore for this reason.
Walmart also doesn't have explicit versions of albums.

I don't get albums with swearing on them period anyway. So I'm not worried about that.

Also, what actually happens is I get the CD and then I rip the songs I like from their to Windows Media Player and sync them to my iPod from there. I don't like download type sites where there are loads of viruses about and I also don't care for those free file sharing sites. At least with getting it from the CD it's not illegal anyway.

I hook up to Pandora, I never have to choose a single song and pay for it!

I get my music multiple ways. I'm not going to lie and say I buy ALL my music because I don't. Far from it. However, if I really like an album, I will go out and buy the CD for my collection.

I also use Pandora a bit.

I removed some of the older posts that contained discussion of illegal downloads and torrents. Just a reminder to all, please refrain from discussing illegal downloads of music. 😉

I get most of mine from iTunes. I sometimes listen to music on YouTube and Grooveshark.

I can respect that, but it is fair to point that downloading music, by any means, is not illegal. It is illegal to sell music that you downloaded.

A lot of artists even encourage people to download their music because it helps to spread their name around, and when people become interested in an artist this way, they often turn to buy the music. Such as how I did with The Black Dahlia Murder.

Though the ToS does state that type of discussion is prohibited, I'll abide by it.

I just renewed subscription to Pandora One, so I could use their desktop app. Pandora has been good to me, though unfortunately it was U.S. only last I checked, so several people I want to nag about it cannot use it.

I use Amazon and iTunes for listening to and purchasing music, though I prefer the latter for longer previews, and since my sister getting me an iPod Touch 4 for Christmas gives that app/website advantage when it comes to organizing music.

That said, I also use BandCamp for listening to and purchasing music, and love several aspects of it, such as that whole songs may be listened again and again, and that there are several formats to choose from for downloading songs.

I use spotify!. 🙂

You can access Pandora outside the US using http://hola.org/ 🙂

I sometimes buy them from Itunes, other than that I just listen to music on Pandora.

I usually purchase & download songs via iTunes since that's the easiest way for me. When I don't do that, however, I usually get it off of a CD. There's a couple songs I've gotten from YouTube as well.

Most of the times it's on iTunes because I kinda like Match.
Sometimes I search a youtube link and I convert it to mp3.

I love Spotify. Sometimes, I'll listen to one or two songs on Youtube but mostly it's all about Spotify. Now that I have my computer back working again, my Spotify is up all the time.
