I spent a lot of the time yesterday "trying" to download Mountain Lion off the Mac app store (it was released in the early hours of yesterday morning). But I kept getting an error 100 this file is temporarily unavailable. Anyway, around 7pm I finally managed to secure myself a download slot. 😎

I am now operating Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
It really is amazing! iMessage is by far my favourite feature.
But the addition of game centre, notification centre, notes, reminders, iCloud tabs, photo stream, and the enhanced iCloud experience. The system is a vast improvement on its predecessor, 10.7 Lion. 🙂

So, speak out...who else has Mountain Lion?
What are your opinions on Apple's new operating system?
 
Not yet, plan to get it tonight or tomorrow... Not to be an ass, but iMessage has been available for 10.7 for a while.

The beta you mean? That was really buggy.
The finished product is only available in ML.
And it works like a charm. 🙂
 
No, I don't think it was beta... but when I got home to check, it was just "Messages", not iMessage. Though you could still talk to people with iMessage on their phones. Sorry about that.
 
I don't have a Mac anymore. 🙁 But I'm looking forward to looking at the screenies! Plus being able to iMessage people from my iPod touch is wonderful. 🙂

That's a real solid argument there.... But let's not turn it into one of "those" threads. The OP wants to know who's already running Mtn Lion, not why YOU think Macs suck.

On the contrary mate! Mac is actually a splendid machine. You will never find such a beautiful GUI (Graphical User Interface) on anything else but the Macintosh!

I wouldn't say Legalize is mad, he is merely saying this is a not a thread about why X is better than X but rather directed towards people who have a mac and have downloaded Ml. If you want to start a Windows/Mac fanboy battle, ply your trade here viewtopic.php?f=70&t=41723

Now, onto the topic. I am going to get ML tonight when I return home and judging by what I've read and seen, I can tell I am going to personally enjoy it very much. If it is certainly much more speedier than 10.6 (What I run currently) then I will x2 pleased because who doesn't love a speed boost? 😀
 
I got it last night, and honestly, there's virtually no apparent change... I also believe it takes longer now from boot to functional, but I only went through two restarts so far.

@Dirty, Messages is the same as I had on 10.7, I wasn't wrong apparently.

I do like that they added notes (vs stickies), always wanted something quick to jot something down. Also the only application that didn't work was VMware Fusion 4.1.1, but the latest one works... so if you have it you might want to update it before installing ML.

It's called Messages, yes, but you send "iMessages". LOL!
And yes, but the one from 10.7 was a beta preview.
Apple haven't, and won't, officially release messages for 10.7 simply because they want you to upgrade to Mountain Lion. LOL! 😛

But the 10.7 beta version of messages is pretty much the same as the finished product. The finished product is just the finished version with bug fixes. 😎
 
So much better than 10.6 in so many ways. Best £14 I've spent in a long time ^_^

10.8 is tons better than 10.6
Marginally better than 10.7
But you're right...good investment. 😉
Because it's the best Apple OS yet. 😎
