There are quite a lot, yes. But I don't think that's a problem.
The more the better I say. Free advertising is always good.
However, having said that, I'm only loyal to some forums.
It depends how well the admin tries to engage members.
If they do a good job and get a good amount of posts up.

I am actually only loyal to a handful of forums myself. I probably got two maybe three forums that I really enjoy requesting services on. Sure, I request services on newer forums as well, but it's best to play cautious with newer sites, though, because even though you request a service on tthere once, you never know how long that site's going to be open for in the long run, so it's always good to kind of take it slow if you know what I mean. Sites like this one I'm happy to remain dedicated to and request services from, because these guys have been around for a long time and are one of the few free forum promotion sites where they honestly know what they're doing.

Have trends changed in recent years or are most people board of promotion forums?

I actually like signing up to new promotion forums. Out of the majority of them, a lot will fail but there will be one or two that make it.

I'm not on too many anymore, usually only to promote my site or buy forum cash service. FP is the only promotion forum I am on consistently and I am on for the community not promotion/advertising aspect.

I have proberly joined around 50 over the years and can still say that FP is a gem.

But like any forum you have to work hard !

There are a lot of promotion forums out there. Most of them end up not making it for one reason or another and in most cases they usually just offer the same old stuff. I think being unique when you have a promotion forum and separating yourself from the rest of the pack can be difficult. Because of this, it can be difficult to get people to join and remain active.

Most of them don't really kick off that well and become dead, and eventually they're deleted. Seeing carbon copies of FP can be just plain annoying. Most of them offer the same old services and they don't have a reason that makes them stand out.

These don't annoy me too much anymore. When they rip-off FP, that's annoying, although I've seen general forums rip off FP as well. xD

It's pretty entertaining seeing promotion forums copy everything but the theme, (even sometimes the theme) and then try to get it active. It's kinda silly, I think it's a well known fact for a forum to have some kind of chance, it needs some unique content otherwise it's going to fade away in the graveyard of un-unique forums. 😛

I'm sure quite a few people have said this, but to me it's mainly because there is no dedication, and closing very quickly.

People seem to not realize how long it takes to get a promotion board off the ground, and give up very quickly.

it is a common defense today, reason is that they are too poor in the process of creating one quality forums.

- Given that they almost all merely previous like two many weeks after that acquire shut down lower.
