I've also read your first post in this thread ( @death180 ) and no one should convince you what software to use or what license to purchase. That's your decision as a forum owner to decide. We can only do our best as to answering questions that you ask. I can care less about what software you use at your forum since I'm not a member of it, assuming you own one.

If there are mods that another forum software has, then go with that forum software if you can't afford to hire a developer or befriend ( or partner up with ) a coder. Why complain about a forum software because it lacks something that you can get from a third party source?
