Why make it two parts, though? The theatre show isn't long enough to require two movies. Is there lots of padding?

They've added a lot more into the movie and expanded on certain things. The first part is about two and a half hours and speculations are that part two will be around this length.

I haven't seen the stage show so not sure what has been changed ot added but they didn't want to just do one movie as it would have lost a lot of the expanded scenes or would have had to do less songs.

I think there would be a lot of deleted scenes though as parts of the trailer are missing from the film. Either that or certain scenes from the trailer will be in part 2.
