Wikileaks set to release top US secrets

edit: Feck it, this is getting serious. Some American politicians are trying to get this guy jailed / who knows. F*cking corrupt pigs, what a horrible country to live in.
Agreed. I saw an article about it on the Today Show's website, and people are all saying that the guy deserves to be jailed or killed for "putting lives at risk." Why can't people realize that the ONLY lives he's putting at risk are political ones? The government WANTS us to think that he's risking lives.

Most of you will be Americans but I'm not going to be careful about what I say because I say what I feel.

I am so glad Americas secrets are revealed, they should not keep secrets and now it's revealed it shows their complete and utter lack of professionalism. I am outraged that the founders been arrested America needs to sort itself out

Why can't a government keep secrets? I don't know what country you're from, but I doubt you'd appreciate all their security related secrets being released. I'm not American but I understand the need for secrecy in some areas.

To clarify, Julian Assange was arrested for sex offences. He gave himself up in London yesterday after a second European arrest warrant was issued.

Well if he committed sexual offenses let him be charged with them and put away. The stories seem to not make any sense based on what these victims are claiming he did, but again, at least he did the right thing and is answering for what they are accusing him of, instead of hiding out.

He had sex without the use of condoms... what a menace to society. Sweden has almost reached american levels of derp.

Freedom of the press is constitutionally protected. There you go.
While I agree here, treason is not. I do not consider the leak to be treason, but it's starting to come close. If WL were to put out a list of US spies inside China or Russia, would you support that? There is a point where freedom of the press can become treason, but WL hasn't gotten to that level yet.

Assange's lawyers have claimed the accusations stem from a "dispute over consensual but unprotected sex" and say the women only made the claims after finding out about each other's relationships with Assange.

I agree, plus it was consensual sex meaning it was not forced sex on a female. Sweden has pretty ridiculous laws.

It sounds like Assange is also in some sort of a love triangle which also may of cause this.

With almost 2,000 mirror sites for WikiLeaks... I do not seem them going offline so soon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rXPrfnU ... r_embedded <--- Theres the Video. Im an American, and I believe in the freedom of speech, and the truth. I believe justice should be served to the inncoent. People need to know the truth. If any country is doing something wrong it shouldnt stay hidden. (Btw I dont know if the vid was posted before already, or people saw it).

And an army of 13 year olds that can DDOS
Yeah I'll bet you most of those hackers who knocked down those sites are in the age range of 12-26. It's all 4chan people.

I read on the news that some people downloaded a program to volunteer their PC in a zombie/botnet attack against the sites being attacked by 4chan.

Yep, to DDOS Amazon, PayPal, Visa, etc.

I wonder if these DDOS attacks will cause people and companies to be careful about not criticizing Wikileaks since no one wants their websites to be DDOS by 4chan and Wikileaks supporter.

The attacks forced PayPal to release WikiLeaks funds, so it is having some impact.

I wonder if Wikileaks Swiss bank account will be re-opened again after the attacks on their Website from 4Chan.
