Will discord destroy forums?

Who would really use the full benefits of this in discord? Unless you pay for it you won't get it on your server. DIscord was a place that was for people to get together and talk with each other while gaming as it was a free software, nowadays it's no longer.
Wait, is this a paid feature?
In that case, traditional forums have the upper hand, honestly didn’t know that part 😀
And I 100% agree, it’s a good chat app but it shouldn’t be trying to copy forums imo.
Discord nitro 🙂 https://discord.com/nitro To get the best out of it you would need to have it. I do not pay for it anyway. Forums in the discord server would be free to use if you are just a normal member on that server.
I use to have nitro but it expired, in that case people are better off buying Xenforo you get so much more features for building a serious community.

I won't say it's trash, then again I use DIscord every day, and I'm in over 40 discord servers and I run three servers myself. But I look at my servers or servers that I help to run for others as gaming-related and nothing more, a place for people to join a voice room and talk about anything or talking while gaming as a free place to do.
I also use it for information, getting information about anything, news updates people posting feedback and today's news on anything. Discords forums are trash I say, why have them.

Discord is trash.
They even gave TheQuartering warnings on their server, so they migrated to Guilded. When I tried promoting on a tech server, and someone's crying about two links. The section was a "video promotion" section. Here's a little bit of my conversation...

I still prefer forums over Discord and I don't see forums disappearing anytime soon. I don't even see many servers using forums, none of the servers I visit use the feature. I also hardly go on Discord though, not because I think it's "woke" but simply because I just prefer forums. I never once had a bad experience in any of the servers I interacted with.

Have to agree with that, People think forums are dead where in reality they’re just saying they personally prefer social media, I myself have never had a bad experience with a forum either but I have on Facebook.

To me, Discord is the same as the "Will Facebook kill forums" but it is even further from the same product and even less of a different option for people that may end up on a forum. The new forums are really a secondary feature for people already on Discord. I have no vision of these forums replacing real forums nor being overly great even on discord. A cool feature if your server has a usage for them, but it would be a major long shot for them to truly dig into the forum userbase.
I do suppose they could pose an issue for forums with Discord servers, but that is a whole different concept and also unlikely to be a major issue.

They’ve been saying Facebook is going to kill forums for years so you have a point.
Discord forums are probably going to be limited compared to a real forum.
People nowadays do not even know what Forums are 😛 Come on people, people that your Facebook or DIscord doesn't. Maybe it makes it worse or better. Still, doesn't make any difference as your own online mates don't even join your forums.

Discord, same with any Social Media like FaceBook, Twitter, will only destroy forums if we as forum owners let them. Most of us here are Team Forum & we keep forums alive by being on a multitude of forums & helping each other out 🙂

I use social media but I prefer forums, Since my friends won’t join the forum I own I’m forced to use Facebook for them and agree 😀
I've never actually used Discord. I don't feel like it will hurt too many forums.

They’re adding a forum feature but you can’t customise it or anything like that.

It may help actually, not many people know or understand forums but if discord introduces them we could see a wave of new forums owners and then it’s possible to see the differences in discord and xenforo and start moving away from discord forum to other platforms.
