That is odd the shutting down. Been using it since March and have never encountered that. Sounds like it did not install correctly for some reason.Evil Stewie said:I might go over to Mac. This has been disappointing so far. Unpleasent. Keeps shutting down every 15 minutes. I might go back to 8.1 or go to Mac. Everything seems slow on it.
I'm starting to get more errors, though. Especially with Edge. When I restarted my laptop today, when Windows 10 launched some icons on desktop and taskbar didn't appear and it took few more minutes to get them all ready. I wonder if I screwed up somewhere.NecroWolf said:That is odd the shutting down. Been using it since March and have never encountered that. Did the icons finally show or are they gone for good? I wouldn't use Edge too much as it is an unfinished product, beta at best.Migi said:I'm starting to get more errors, though. They finally appeared. But it took way longer compared to before. I'll check again when I turn on the laptop tomorrow. Yeah, I'm back to Firefox already. Nothing beats FF.NecroWolf said:Did the icons finally show or are they gone for good? You should be able to take your key with you if you change mobos? Boy I hope so because if not my version is $199 if I had to buy it. Won't know til I try it I guess.Hidden308 said:Migi said:jacklance said:Free for a year. Big difference.I'm a bit confused. It is free to download for thoses who currently have Windows 7 or 8 (or 8.1) during the first year. So if you want Windows 10 without paying for it you upgrade now. If you don't upgrade you will have to pay the full price ($120) after.
So yes it is free forever if you upgraded already. One thing to let you know though. Windows 10 is tied to your motherboard (I found this through Reddit) so if you switch to a new PC you will have to buy Windows 10. Only thoses who build custom pc's (such as myself) will really be the only ones to worry about the OS being tied to the motherboard though. 😛
