What if windows xp support end?

Is there any other solution to find out the support?

Can we use windows xp further or not?

You could use XP, it is just that Microsoft will not offer you support. There are plenty of places you could get support, however software will still become less and less compatible. If you really needed you could just install another operating system on your computer.

You can still use XP, but you need to be more careful, and use a updated antivirus, antispyware, and firewall to prevent security problems because XP will no longer have any new security updates anymore.

I recommend Bitdefender Total Security ( http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/to ... urity.html ) because it has an Antivirus, Antispyware, Firewall, and many other features which is great at protecting your PC.

I read you can still pay for extended support since many banks are paying for extended support according to http://www.neowin.net/news/many-banks-p ... based-atms

"Many banks in the US and UK have already extended, or plan to extend, their service contracts with Microsoft beyond April 8th, when the company officially stops supporting the 12 year old operating system."

Although, it would be more worth-it just to buy a used or cheap copy of Windows 7-8 on eBay, or Craigslists.

Windows XP can still be used, but you will at a more risk to virus and malware if you are not updated with a good antivirus software. The service is not stopped, but they have just closed the upgrades to fight the new patches.

You can either work with a good updated antivirus on XP, or you can always shift your operating system to Windows 7.

Unfortunate that they had to end it, but Windows 7 is at least not a bad one to try.

Microsoft has really dropped the ball with Windows 8.

Thanks guys for your update.

Its really helped me.

Today's back i got One problem regarding the Virus as RH-Calvin said.

Hello Omkar002,

My suggestion is to Update your anti-virus.

So that you will no longer face that issue.

I totally agree. Windows 7 (basically the fix of Vista), is very similar to Windows XP and will be supported by Microsoft for a long time. For people who are used to using XP, I strongly suggest getting Windows 7, as Windows 8 sucks (in my opinion) when compared to 7.

If you continue to use Windows XP now that support has ended, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses.

Windows XP had it's time I guess.

Windows 7 is not bad actually good as for Windows 8 don't get me started :L

Windows XP is still one of the best operating systems for PCs with 512MB or less RAM, and an older CPU.

The new Windows 8.1 is pretty good with all the latest updates including Update 1 which got release last tuesday. The new start screen now has a right-click menu when you right click on the tiles, and there is a shutdown, and search icon on the top right of the start screen.

There is also now a minimize, and close button on the top right corner of full screen Windows Store 8 Apps, so closing and minimizing Windows 8 Store Apps is simpler with a mouse.

http://classicshell.net/ adds a startmenu, and starts up your computer to the classic desktop if you do not like the new Start screen menu in Windows 8.1.

I agree, XP with updated antivirus and malware protection should run fine. Some Linux (such as Puppy Linux) distros are also good for older computers.

My last computer was an XP and got the blue screen of death. I won't own another XP after that.

I wouldn't recommend to continue with Windows XP on your computer, however now the support has ended doesn't mean you're automatically prone to viruses. Although you should be fine for the next few months it may be worth thinking about upgrading to a newer Operating System or if you can't afford a new copy of Windows then a Linux distro.

I care too little to update the software, I think that I'll be fine. I'll be getting a newer laptop sometime in the next three or four months, so I'm not sweating it. Honestly, I have used Windows Xp for the last seven or eight years, so it's probably about time that I start using the newer software.

At one time, I was a huge fan of Windows XP especially after upgrading to Windows Vista and enduring lag for a few years. At first, it was odd using XP after being a Vista user so long but it's a nice lightweight system. Just unexpected things like the blue screen of death killing my hard drive made me less of a fan.

Since my gaming motherboard crashed I am forced to use windows xp due to my crappy video card in my desktop and no money to upgrade at this time.

XP isn't that bad but I do miss 7.

Now that xp support is ended, It is the perfect time for many to at least try out a good Linux distro. If they don't like it then get windows 7.

Every PC I've owned (XP, 7, 8) has gotten multiple blue screens, but so far nothing permanent has happened.
