Worst Thing About IPS?

Same, It's ridiculous. I honestly don't know why they got shut of the Marketplace. when you do find a developer you have to register on their forum, It's so silly.
IPS can still make money if they did not shut it down, I mean each time people but products they earn 5% from that - why close it if IPS can earn from it.

I've been considering converting from XF to IPS, since the demo I have, I can basically do 95% of what I want without any plugins. The only thing I really feel is missing is Passkeys support.
I'm looking forward to IC5 after messing around with the public preview. The new page builder makes things a lot easier and presents articles in a better format than the current implementation does. Have been moving everything I previously had on separate platforms to truly have an all in one location for content.

Yea, the blog posts for the teasers are great. The theme builder also seems a lot easier to use too, than XF, and basically every free option. See the changes live, as well as recommended colors for a pallete, and mobile editing? That's amazing.

Seems like Invision has been listening to their license holders as to what they need for their end users interactions.
Meanwhile. another major script provider has sat on their thumbs and spun for years and finally decided that with their 2.4 release that they may offer their license holders users a "little something". Which is a lot too late for many and if par for the course, a bare bones offering that begs for outside developers to make it useful.
A close friend of mine is still wanting to use Invision even after me selling him an XF license with XFES and XFRM for $25.
I can sort of understand where he is coming from as he really does not want to chase multiple add-ons and hoping they are kept updated, instead wanting to try to keep everything he can in one package.

If it wasn't for Bob's add-ons I would would be looking elsewhere myself. XenForo has become a major disappointment.
It would probably be Invision, but I am still leery of them killing self-hosting after v5 versions.

To me, one of the biggest issues currently is the big "screw you" that Invision gives to their license holders that may want to move to another script and recoup some of the cost of their existing license. In the "bad old days" you could transfer your license to someone else. Now, from my understanding, if you decide to go to another script, you simply lose all the funds you invested with no ability per the license to recoup any of it if you would like to sell it to someone else.
And if you decide to come back to it 3 years later, you then have the honor of buying the script all over again.

Classic license system is the worst after 2 year not renew you will lose the license you had to rebuy again..
