The day is upon us finally!

Who else is planning to wait before upgrading to 2.3? I’ll probably wait a couple of weeks.

I'm in no rush. I probably won't upgrade until 2.3.x anyway. Let the first bugs get squashed.

I have updated a few of my unreleased forums. Not much on them, so I wasn't to worried about messing things up. Uninstalled the styles I had on them and I am playing with the default 2.3 style. I may just run that for now. Do some edits on my own.

If your style has an update to run on 2.3, then I would go a head and do it. So far the updates I have done with older styles, has broken the site. I wasn't planning on keeping the styles, but I wanted to see what was going to break. If you don't update or you don't role the update using the default style, you can change in the admin to fix things.

Be sure to backup before updating. Just a friendly reminder.

I've done a few fresh installs. I put it on my AAF forum. So far, it seems the same but I do like the light and dark feature.

Really cool to see AAF back. 🙂
I was pretty much done with admin forums because I didn't have AAF anymore and I missed it.

But seeing the domain name available sparked my interest again.

I'm going to just go with it. I'm excited about it, too. It was one of my most successful communities. I hope to make that happen again 🙂

Now to figure out how to get my sites upgraded... Ideally before XenForo 2.4 comes out. I'm hoping Ozzy will pick up a few more add-ons that have been abandoned by other developers, as otherwise they will be lost features.

Have you ran some test on these add-ons?

I just checked, most of the add ons I’m running are already updated and compatible with XF 2.3, only a few that aren’t which are being updated by their respective developer.

I haven't done anything yet. I'll give it a shot, but I know a few of them will be a lost cause.

AddonFlare is one developer that I've got a few add-ons from. He went AFK and XenForo removed his add-ons from their Resources like a year ago.

Oh I wouldn’t get your hopes up. It’s better to have it replaced by someone else sadly.

I really hope Ozzy starts getting his add-ons updated. He's carrying a ton.

Yeah noticed that too. Isn’t he hiring another developer?

On a side note: I just upgraded successfully to 2.3. Most add ons were updated by their creators, and a few that weren't, run great on 2.3 as-is.

Pretty mind blown to see 100% running several add ons, a custom theme and above all, being a forum.

For anyone willing to upgrade but don't have the courage or know where to begin. I've written a simple guide:

I've updated Code Forum to XF 2.3 and love it. We only had a minor hiccup with our style, but it was fixed pretty quickly. I plan to upgrade FP; however, about 81% of our current add-ons are not compatible with 2.3, so we are waiting until more have been updated.

How much add ons do we have ?
