Your thoughts on Homosexuality?

I actually think that gay or bisexual people are nicer.
I like your response 🙂

I'm bisexual and have no problem with homosexuality. I have no problem with anyone that's either homosexual, lesbian, transgender or anything else. The only time I have a problem is when someone is biphobic and that's usually the person, not the sexual preference as a whole.

I would like to add that although several replies to this thread were frightfully ignorant and some even offensive I'm pretty happy to see how many people don't care either way. That's balanced out the posts that made me want to smack something 😉

And I agree with this post by Trublu;

I would like to mention that never at any point did I choose to be gay (because, honestly, why at this point in history would anybody choose to be anything other than a straight white male?). And, in addition, I have never met a glbtqi person who has ever tried to "recruit" someone... and if you do, I would very much question their actual homosexuality.

I never had a choice in the matter. If I had a choice, if I could actually choose who I love or am attracted to then I would be straight of course. I have put up with so much abuse and having my life threatened over the years that to even think someone would choose to go through that rather then choosing to be straight is... I don't even have words for how ludicrous that notion is.

I just thought everyone would like to know that ~razz~

It is a widely discussed topic this one!
I think its wrong because its not what man and women are made for. It isn't natural. But because life isn't perfect people can only do what they want and desire. There are both atheist opinions, Christian opinions and etc. Offcourse no-one will believe which one actually does fit. Atheists hate God or just don't acknowledge him so they come up with their own opinions. Then Christians but in and say NO thats not right you should obey what God says and then there is a big dispute about whats right and whats not.
But honestly i think that homosexuality is wrong and that we should be loving women because they were made for men and vice versa. Not men for men and women for women.

By what standards are what a man and a woman are made for? Where did you get that from? The bible?
Why isn't it natural for two people that love each other to express that love?
Atheists ' hate god ' ? No, not exactly. I'm an Atheist, I don't hate God, I just don't believe in a deity.. God doesn't exist as far as I am concerned, and I base my beliefs off a purely scientific stance- not a religious stance.

There's a separation between church and state for a reason.

Who says they were made for that? Why is it wrong?

Let me ask you this:

What does it matter to you what two people do behind closed doors?

because what happens behind closed doors defines our society. and I'm pretty sure anyone who's been laid knows why one is made more for the other. but if someone chooses to be gay that fine. don't involve me though. and there is separation of church and state BUT peoples religious morals come through as they should because it's what they believe

I dont personally like it and i find it odd but hey its your life live it how you want to.

I honestly don't think twice about the issue, that is between you and your God.

Now were I do get pissy, is when people start shoving that crap down my throat. The idea of pushing that crap on our kids (California School system for example) is child abuse in my opinion. I don't care if you think you was born gay or you became gay. This country (United States) was founded on the basic Christian beliefs.

And we've done so much with those "basic Christian beliefs", enslaving African Americans, putting Women below men, taking Mexican territory, killing Indians.... Gotta love basic Christian beliefs. This "basic Christian belief" idea is related to Homosexuality, so I am going to address it.

First off, the part of the bible where is says a man may not lie in bed with another man or whatever... in this part, it also says that you may not wear clothes with more than one type of fabric in them, and that you may not eat meat offered to idols.
These rules were made for the Israelites, for people that existed thousands of years before our time, and so many people say that "the bible says being gay is wrong", this one rule... is the only rule anyone uses out of a huge list of rules in the same spot in the same bible. Why is that?
And Child abuse? The only abuse here is the abuse that those of "basic Christian beliefs" wreak on homosexuals. Child abuse... phfff.

Homosexuality is bad, it's bad for our economy.

1. Because they didn't have a baby they didn't pay for any medical expenses.
2. Also, because they didn't have a baby they never pay for their child's clothing, nor their food and life long things.

But.. there's a good side.

1. Gay people make good music, not saying only gay people do.. but some do.
2. Lowers the population.
3. Theirs less traffic on streets.

Have you ever watched Keith Olbermann? He made a special comment on this very line of thought, that homosexuality is bad for the economy....
And one of the things he said, is that people that think this are forgeting (drumroll please), Weddings! He tallied up that because homosexuals can't marry, these industries are making millions (yes millions) less than they would if homosexuals had their Constitutional rights. The last two (#2 and 3) are just insulting to gay people.

Personally i couldn't care less whether somebody was gay or not, if somebody wants to live their life that way...they should be allowed to.

live and let live, each to their own as long as its not in my face i dont mind xxx

OH MY GOD!

ANOTHER KEITH OLBERMANN WATCHER!

I think i love you!

I was hanging out with my friends last Thrusday, and a new addition to the tribe arrived.
He's gay.

He then went on to complain about this guy who he's only known for 3 days, but is mad about him, being creepy, and sending sexual text messages to him.

I just lay there wondering.... uh... how do they tell eachother apart from straight people?

Does anyone have an answer to this? It perplexes me

Not all gay people send sexual text messages or are creepy.. please remember that.

It's hard to tell a gay person from a straight.. both are completely normal people. A gay person may wear lotions or have manicured toenails and fingernails. That's all I can think of.

I have Gay Friends and they are probably the nicest people I know ......... live and let live, everyone is born, everyone has a different genetic make up, we can't choose.

Tolerence to everyone and take people as you find them.

What else is it then - its in our DNA makeup - you don't suddenly choose to be gay.

^Agree 100%. No one's born w/ a sexual preference. That's something of the mind and until you're old enough and have mentally developed to make your choice, you're not born w/ a preference of one or the other.

Exactly.

You don't just wake up one day and say " I'm gay ".

I have no prblems with them at all, each to their own. I do however, hate the word "gay". Where I live it no longer means "homosexual", it means "stupid" or "dumb" which isnt correct at all. I may be a grammer freak, but besides that it is used to much incorrectly. I will also be happy when the Fad passes and everything returns to as normal as things can be 😕

This.

There is nothing wrong at all with homosexuality. Most every study that tries to make a link between homosexuality and perversion is a practice in crackpot science.

Not exactly. "Gay" as a synonym for "homosexual" first came into use around 1970*, and you're 35 years old, so I wouldn't say you're showing your age this time.

*even though it wasn't much accepted as such until the 1980s.
