zomg, a female

Bullying is bullying, whether it's on the Internet or not. I don't take lightly to either instance.

But I don't see anything wrong with having teasing if it's in good nature and is obviously a joke. However, there needs to be action when things get nasty.

It is annoying and not because a girl doesn't answer means she likes it. For me I'd believe it if she encouraged the poster with a reply in a consenting way. I've seen this threads work okay, so I guess it depends of the community; Granted, it is always a risk. And also lots of egos get broken when they post their picture and no one comments, yet the picture from the next poster has many, hahah. Funny-Funny.

Well, hanging some with me through forums, gets you sooner or later to realise that I am not a male forum-user. Fantanoice put my reasons very nicely. I rather people first give me the chance to openly talk about what I like outside of the classic stereotype.

I don't mind people mistaking my gender, or assuming a bit, so long they still respect me and actually listen to what I am saying. I had someone I would talk about Mortal kombat and then he'd auto-silence when he was about to start his rants saying "oh, sorry I forgot you're a girl". THAT is what frustrates me, when people cannot jump over those stereotypes even if you leave clear you are not at all fitting in them.

There are way more girl gamers than what it used to be, the numbers are getting looser, however I think males still have the win in numbers, I am glad though, people has become way more open minded about it, starting for the same girls willing to try out these kind of things. In each board, I guess it depends what is about , layout, rules, luck... many places they make polls and there are more girls than boys, heheh. Still I have the impression as well that a internet-wide poll would reveal more males than females, even if the difference probably won't be that overwhelming.

I do, however find it interesting that when a girl posts a 'cleavage revealing' pic and the males comment them, they cry and complain saying they're pervs. In my honest opinion if a girl posts a pic where she has allot of cleavage showing, she's baiting the males to say something so then they get in trouble and are called out for being perverts.

TBH, I kinda figured you were female just by your display name. But then again, I'm good at guessing.

I, personally have never seen a problem with female gamers. On a forum I'm on, one of the females is a hardcore gamer, and I find it awesome. Girls can be just as good as video games as guys, even better depending on the person.

It comes back to the stereotyping again. When it comes to things males do, most females are "afraid to break a nail", or "mess up their hair". That's why I find the females sexy who aren't afraid to get down and dirty.

Because, again, stereotyping, girls are rather out shopping, or as bad as it is to say it, house cleaning. In a way, this is going back to ancient history of male dominance. The males do all the "fun" stuff, while the females take care of the babies and clean the house.

Disclaimer: I am not saying I agree with that, or saying it's how it should be.

I think women that post their pics expect horndogs to reply. If they are grown, they have learned to deal with it over the years. Some crave the attention even though they pretend not to like it.

I think everyone should expect that when they put their picture out there, comments are bound to be made. Some the person will like and some they wont. Life goes on..
If you dont want unwelcomed comments, dont post your picture for the whole world to see. Simple as that.

No one points a gun to you head when you post a pic of yourself so I don't see why a forum would restrict the topic from getting posted. People have free will to choose whether to post a pic of themselves IMO.

Also don't show off cleavage and get mad when they comment on it.

If you don't show off then the chances of getting those comments drops by a lot.

Calling a girl hot doesn't make you a pervert as it just makes you male. This works in reverse as well. Most forums are predominately male most of the time so if you are female then you will get this no matter what forum you go to but there are forums that are predominately female and others that are an relatively even mix between the two.

I usually don't post in these threads much and don't care to post pics of myself but I know enough to be respectful and not make comments that would come from an immature teenager because I quite frankly am neither immature or a teenager so I wouldn't want to come off as one. lol

I like post your pics threads, I like knowing what the people I talk to look like.

I do hate it when people bully others for how they look and I tend to get quite nasty against bullies. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. If you think someone is ugly you don't need to say it you can be silent imo.

I post cleavage pics from time to time and call guys pervs for commenting but I really don't think their pervs. I just call them that as a joke really.

I have quite a few creeps blocked from Skype and MSN. No guys I'm not webcam sex. MSN guys are way worse than forum guys.

^^^ Exactimundo!!!

Not saying that about all women, but alot do just for the attention it brings them.

Had this one girl who dressed in female costume, from Brawl ... drove my members nuts. And she just soaked all the attention in.

I don't even like those "Post Your Pics" threads or "Faces of <Insert Forum Name Here>" because you never know what may come of it. I haven't started a thread like that on my forum, and I don't think I ever will either, because I don't trust those threads, because you never know what they might say about it.
I agree. I don't find it to be of a ban issue but a full moderation on their posts would be great. I don't have this on my forum as I don't think a promotion forum is about posting images of yourself. I think it's posting images of your forum. 😀

Yeah, I'd rather have threads like "post pics of your registeration page" or "Post what your forum looks like" rather than post your own pic thing.

Wait, what? So men are allowed to post their pics without the worry of a hurtful comment, but women can't? <_<

Learning to deal with it doesn't change the fact that it shouldn't happen in the first place. After all, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Sounds about right. 😀

I think complimenting is fine, but acting like sex crazed inferiors is plain stupid, and quite rude. Although yes, I do agree, some women like the attention, some are modest.

My wife posts her picture on lots of forums and she has never had any problems with creepy people telling her she's hot or wanting her phone number.
I don't know why.
