@JoyFreak and I were talking about this. Everyone knows this. Nobody's gonna do anything, though. So I’ve been veiwing these battles and I feel it’s more of a popularity contest then the actual website itself...
I mean you have website that are on sub domains on old php forum beating a website with a domain on xf license
You also have website with gawd awful color scheme where you can barely read what’s on the website... looking like the 90s not even responsive.
so is it just a popularity contest because people are definitely not voting for the better website...
Yeah, but the difference between your idea of a "shitty" website, and the old FP, was that FP was actually well-designed. It's only issue (besides crappy leadership in those days) is that software. PHPBB left FP in a vulnerable state. You don't realize it then, and you still don't realize it today: PHPBB can be hacked at any point. Same goes for SMF, and any other free-software because of how slow development is, and how slow approval is done. My idea of shitty website is shitty UI, shitty design, shitty admin, shitty mods, etc. I could say Cameron is a shitty admin, but at least his mods are some good people or some of his decisions make this site better. Let's put it that way. I don't like the new design for nitpicky reasons. I like the effect that it makes when you load a thread. It's almost like you are loading a PlayStation 3 or 4 (lol). You do know it's the actual content itself that makes a website what it is, correct? You can sink all of the money you want into an TLD, XF license, premium domain and what not and still have a shitty website that pale in comparison to something running on a free hosting with a great community. Hell, you should have seen FP back 8 years ago, it didn't check any of the boxes that you think makes for a content-worthy website. Get outta here with this crap.
Meowsepad kept harking about how "motherfucking website" is better than something like MAF. That's debatable because MAF evened the odds against him, and likewise, @Claraviolet was proactive and got his community to rally around him. That's awesome, if I don't say so myself.
I don't know why Cameron wanted to pit his site against mine in the sweet 16. But I'm over it. I'll come back stronger next year.
