Adsense

Thanks! Has Adsense had any virus or noisemaking ad issues? Proboards has been suffering from them here and there over the past few months. Oh and I edited in more info up there before I saw your post 😛

Not intentionally. But have there ever been problems with viruses leaking through ads on my current board. Proboards has again had this problem for a few months now on and off.

I'm sorry if my questions are dumb. I don't really know anything about all this. I'm trying to keep my site safe and I don't know where else to go to get answers. I'm not trying to annoy anyone or anything. I'm very grateful already for all that you guys have helped me with.

I checked my adsense account and it is up and working. I just need the domain name to finally transfer back to me.

I've been using Adsense a while and have had no virus ads or anything. You should make your $50 no problem. You'll have to let me know how much you bring in.

Oh, I'll be sure to let everyone know how this goes. I've already been giving a blow by blow account on how the transfer's shaping up. 🙂

I got a bank account and my account with Adsense was set up a long time ago actually. I just went in and had a look and it's still running and apparently ready to go as soon as I have that domain transferred.

The crowd on your forum is older than mine is, Cloverfield, so they're more likely to click, but ads for teens have also been around a long time and been successful, what I'm hoping they offer ads for are anime, roleplaying, pet/animal related and online game related ads as well as iTunes, Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, and stuff, those are BIG interests for my members, they would click on ads if they thought it would lead to something of some of those topics.

$50 a month would give me a start, cover my overhead and convince my folks that maybe all my efforts at trying to make just a little money doing something I love aren't worthless.

Really? Mine are mostly teens, younger teens more than older teens, but they range from at least, 10 to 34 in age.

{The most recent 10 year old revealed her age so had to be deleted, per Proboards' wonderful rule about people under 13. I directed her to the test site and said we'll soon have a place for her again}

Yeah the majority are around 13-16 on my forum though there are a few 18+'s too.

Wow, I think that's awesome, shows that a lot of em are into an awesome show. Your demographic sounds just about identical to mine.

Adsense it definitely is then, for me! Thanks guys, my choice has been made!

Worried about getting banned...I know not to click on them or anything though, but how long does it take to get that first paycheck? Someone up there said that after the first payout a ban is unlikely.

Last month was so miss match. I only made £33 ($50) Hopefully it will be more this month.

I reached £50 and Google disabled my account. 😡

I'm appealing it. I have never tried to fraudulently click the ads. I mean they disabled it today but no-one had even clicked a single ad in the past 10 days!!!!

Did you click the ads yourself?

I clicked the ads myself once when it was set up to ensure it was working. That was one click. Plus the IP address you use to login in to the Google Adsense account does not generate revenue on ad clicks if you click them.

So? You broke Google Adsense's policies when installing Adsense.

Publishers may not click their own ads or use any means to inflate impressions and/or clicks artificially, including manual methods.

1 click to ensure that it was working properly? 1 click that would most likely generate 3p.

Sorry mate, even one click will get you banned. Some get away, most get caught. If you think 1 click will get you 3p only, then what if 1 million users think that way? Then Google's partners will basically be giving out free money without any benefit.
