It depends what they do, really. I mean if they user their computer to check up on facebook and post on forums it's alright. If they're gaming 24/9 then it's a must to upgrade.

XP is old and outdated and I can't stand to see it, but I don't care if you use it. You're computer won't blow up when Microsoft stops giving support for it. As soon as Windows 8 is released, I'm switching to a Mac.

I wouldn't even switch to a Mac no matter how bad it is. Somebody who technically does nothing but surf the internet on their computers, XP will work like a charm.

Soon, using Windows XP will be so outdated that Windows 7 will start losing compatibility. Pretty soon, using Windows XP when Windows 9 (if it will go that far, that is) will probably be like using Windows 98 now. Believe it or not, people still have some old computers with Windows 98 and 2000, and they think people who use XP are weird. That is, that's what the people who treat Windows 7 as their god think. :rofl:

My friend just upgraded from Windows XP to Ubuntu 11.10 and revived a 12 year old computer he had that was dying (we tried cleaning it up with various tools, nothing took) wiping XP off it and slapping Ubuntu 11.x on it worked perfectly though and brought new life into it 😀

Windows is changing all of what they have in windows 8. No more of the same old interface. It's a tablet os they plan. Idevices rule the market. Apple products are smart. But this isn't the topic for that

XP is still a perfectly good operating system to use for the vast majority of things. XP is the best choice for computers that don't have good enough graphics to run Windows 7.
