Thanks all (well the one's who werent jerks). Ive been thinking about this decision for weeks now as I knew it was coming. I must have written that offline letter 100 times before I was satisfyed with what it said. I wasn't in this for the money so selling it wasnt an option. To respond to something someone said:
"why still close something that you've put your life and soul into?"
Well that is why I closed it, I put a lot of effort into it and I would like for the forum to be remembered with its great legacy instead of crumbling to the ground after I left, not saying that would happen exactly but you get what I am saying. I have enough stress in my life at the moment and things arent getting any better. Leaving the forum open, selling it, or giving it away would just be one more thing to think about. Not only that but running a forum of that magnitude, it seems like there is more drama/stress than pleasure. I am happy with my decision and I am at peace with a couple luxuries in my life going away. The internet for example.. Its very addicting. It almost feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. No more magic box sucking hours out of my day any more. Lol.
Its sad that its happened but I can see the positives in it as well.

No its not bs. I talked with theezy and he said that financially he cannot pay for the internet and the hosting for the site. He told me this a day or two ago before closing. It was still a shock to me though.

I am very sad to see FA gone. It was the first forum I was actually serious staff on before I came here. FA was a great community with great members and great webmaster.
First I just want to say to all the people who are putting smiley faces and stuff in their messages, stop. It shows exactly how mature you are being happy a succesful forum like that has closed! Nobody's forums on here will even compare with FA. Also if you think saying oh I'm sad but FP ftw, it's not going to gain you any kudos at all. I think it's disrespectful. I've closed forums in my time and it's a sad thing to do. Especially for personal reasons such as Travis'.
To Travis, I'm sorry your insurance screwed you like that. It is really a shame that you had to close your site it's peak! I will miss FA, and you because you gave me the GM job last summer. Best of luck to you and I honestly hope everything works out the best for you and that we see you sometime in the near future! 😀

I'm really disappointed that FA is gone. I been there since the beginning. I think it was the first forum advertising forum I ever signed up for. Unfortunately, before it started booming, I had personal problems and had to cut off my magic box receiver. (The Internet) I was offered a job on FA but it was kind of too late. FA helped me start up my forum(s).
Travis, good luck in life. I will miss FA and The Island. I was having fun posting on both of your forums. I wish I could help you in a way. Remember the Earth (meeee!) always. 😀 Let's stay in touch man, okay?

Renquist has been quiet for a while and well the support team, they all ditched freeforums. (Except for CommanderCool, hehe.) Oh, we got a new support team staff. Grieven. I don't know how old he is though. :rofl:
