George Bush - Good Or Bad?

Obama isn't completely anti-gun. He's taken virtually no action to put a single-payer health care system into place. He supported the Stupak Amendment. He doesn't support the idea of homosexual marriage. He's not taking enough action to end the wars overseas.

That's because he has to look conservative to get a single vote here in america. It's when he leaves his teleprompter that his true liberalism actually comes out. It's jsut like with Bill Clinton, who was more conservative towards the end of his presidency because he wanted to be reelected.

Maybe so, but he's still betrayed our ideology. If you took Obama and moved him to a European country like Sweden or Finland, he'd be considered a very radical conservative.

Either that, or he'd show his true colors as a liberal. Even then, if he caters to conservatives in a conservative country, in Europe, would he not cater to liberals?

I hate Bush. He should've never been elected. Ever. I personally think he should've died there in the rudest state of America(minus New York and California)

The Iraq war was stupid, and i think we should do whatever we can to end it, even if that means spreading through every middle-eastern country to find the terrorists, or even bombing them, as long as it ends.
Now hang the fuck on.. Texas is not the rudest state in the u.s. Do not let one person make you think bad about he whole state.

New York is pretty nice if you ask me and yes I have been there.. So if anyone is rude it is you for thinking so...

So you're saying that F.D.R. had to cater to conservatives in his four terms to get reelected?

I am saying that Obama has to. And back then all of the media was liberal. Now we have Fox News, the internet, and Talk Radio.

And back then the idea of socalism seemed promising.
And why shouldn't it today? Here's what we're taught in school:

USA - GOOD
Democracy - GOOD
Communism - BAD

While I don't support the idea of communism, I fully support socialism.

@Snobothehobo: That trick was right out of Saul Alinski's book.

@GooseDennis: What did bush do to cause it? You can blame the greedy fa tcat executives with some reason, but Bush? He and Obama are equally to blame.

Because you want The Man to mouth feed you obama money?
Epic fail. And this wouldn't need happening if Bush hadn't put us in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depresssion.
YES!! Exactly! George Bush was the one who took out ALL of those sub-prime mortgages that caused the economy to collapse!! People are finally seeing this conspiracy!

Well, to be fair, the banks were too lenient on what they were allowed to loan out to a consumer. That was what caused overheating, which blew the housing market.

To be perfectly fair, I won't say that democracy is better than communism, and I won't say communism is better than democracy. At one side, an authoritarian (communism, fascism, dictatorship, etc.) government can easily pass a bill with much more efficiency than a democratic government can, but in most authoritarian regimen, no one can tell the leader, "is this ethical?" At the end of the day, there's going to be a balance. I don't really support the propaganda at times in our education systems. However, in November, I will be of legal age in voting and I will not be taking my right for granted and will vote. Even then, there are guys like Cuba who can really take pride in what they do. Before Castro left, he went into every Cuban house and replaced every lightbulb with fuel-efficient ones. In addition, health care is a right there, their literacy rate is amongst the highest in the world, even ahead of Canada and the United States.

NOTE: I support the Harper government. Before you bark at how socialist he is, he is the leader of the conservative party.

What the heck? Do you really think that freedom is just as good as marking in large missile parades wearing a fuzzy hat and rifle?

In addition, health care is a right there
There is no right healthcare system, okay?

their literacy rate is amongst the highest in the world, even ahead of Canada and the United States.
The difference is less than 1%, and I would almost bet money that most of those illiterate people are illegal.

In my opinion, democracy and socialism go together far better than democracy and capitalism do.

Millions of people in the United States aren't free at all.

Took the words out of my mouth. The economy you know toda isn't pure capitalism, it is a mixture of capitalism and socialism. There is no such thing as a true capitalist economy or a true socialist economy.
