George Bush - Good Or Bad?

Millions of people in the United States aren't free at all.

Mind explaning?
I'll save him the trouble. Illegal immigrants, for example. If they had an easier route to become true citizens, then they would actually be free, instead of having to hide from police each and every time they see a cop car.

Why aren't illegal murderers free?

Because they broke the law. The same is to say with illegal immigrants. they did not respect our sovereignty in passing over the border. we have a limited number of spots in this country, which should be reserved for those who respect our laws.

While I whole-heartedly agree with Cosmic, it takes an EXTREMELY long time for Mexicans to get Green Cards and such. That is part of the problem as well.

Perhaps the reason is that we have too many Mexicans over here already? If we actually needed a larger work force then I'm sure immigration would go faster. Currently, job wise, the supply is much greater than the demand. Mexican law says that immigrants must:

• Not disturb the "balance of the national demographics".
• Be able to support themselves.
• Not have broken foreign laws
• Provide their own healthcare.

If they want to be like america, our capitalist system is released into the public domain.

I hate Bush. He should've never been elected. Ever. I personally think he should've died there in the rudest state of America(minus New York and California)

The Iraq war was stupid, and i think we should do whatever we can to end it, even if that means spreading through every middle-eastern country to find the terrorists, or even bombing them, as long as it ends.
He wasn't elected first time around

Last I checked we did not use popular vote. We used an electorial college system. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

That is correct, all the executive people up top voted him in (think I slept through some of the social studies classes 😛)

No, the votes were "counted," Bush won. Gore challenged it, Supreme Court dismissed case.

They almost always vote with their state. In the case of 2000, no mis-votes on the electors' part changed the outcome.

Anyway, as bush was elected for a second term, I would have to say that most Americans do not regret him being elected, otherwise they would have voted him out.

Or because Americans always choose to reelect a president while they are in wartime.

Let's look back in time, starting with the War of 1812.

President when the war started:
James Madison.

In office from 1809 - 1817

War began in 1812, the same year Madison was reelected.

I'm skipping the Mexican American war because Polk promised not to run for reelection.

American Civil War:

President when started:
Abraham Lincoln

In office from 1861-1865

War lasted from 1861-1865
Lincoln was reelected in 1864.

Skipping Spanish-American War because there was noone goign up for reelection.

Philippine-American War:

President when started:
William McKinley

In office from 1896-1901

President when ended:
Theodore Roosevelt

In office 1901-1909

War lasted from 1899-1913

Notice how both were reelected.

World War I:

President when started:
Woodrow Wilson

In office 1913-1921

War lasted from 1914-1918.

You get the point.

Those were very different times. all of your examples were before the media stirred up people to protest against wars. Since after many of your examples, the media has sent home obituaries every day and images of battlefields. While this is not expressly a good or bad thing, it is devastating for approval ratings. If 9/11 had never happened, Bush probably would have still beaten Kerry and McCain may have even won the 2009 election, for all we know. (P.S. I hate McCain too).

He was in a pretty bad position. Conservatives hate him because he's a RINO and liberals hate him because he's too far to the right. I'm sure most everyone who voted for him wasn't actually voting for McCain, but against Obama.

Or because there was no 2009 election, there was only the 2008 election.

There should have been a 2009 election, as Obama isn't even a citizen!

the 9/11 attack until after reading a kids book, he was too corrupt and had two faces. Thats me. Thanks.
see ya 😛

You do realize he was there for under or around six minutes, correct? (this confirmed by the teacher of the class). What exactly was he supposed to do? Rip off his clothes, fly into the air and intercept planes that had either already hit their targets or were just about to...? He handled the job swell. Hence why he became one of the most highly approved presidents after the attacks occurred.

Do you think the same about Clinton and the OKC Bombing?
