Hahahaha I can understand avocado and salmon sushi is great with soy sauce and wasabi, I don't like it with chicken teriyaki though!
I haven't actually tried chicken teriyaki sushi before. In fact, I don't think I've seen it around where I am. 😱

I'm actually allergic to fish , so yeah, no sushi for me 🙁

How much do you add wasabi to the small bowl of soy sauce? Now that you guys said it that way with avocado and salmon sushi, I become interested in trying it next time I went to a sushi restaurant. XD

phio_chan just need a pinky sized portion of wasabi in a small soy sauce cup (those tiny plates they offer at restaurants) any bigger than that, and well I'd say you're a brave braaaaaaave woman with tastebuds of steel!

Tressy I have no idea where you are from but I hope you're not in the ass end of nowhere in some rural district, because teriyaki chicken is a standard sushi dish served at all sushi places. It's pretty easy to find, if not you can easily make it, here are the ingredients you need

300g deboned chicken thighs
1 tbsp sake
4 tbsp soy sauce
4-5 tbsp mirin
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil

1. In a bowl, put in sake, soya sauce, mirin and sugar. Mix well and marinate the chicken in it for about 20 minutes.
2. Heat the oil in a pan, brown both sides of the chicken thighs and leave until cooked.
3. Pour in the teriyaki sauce that was used to marinate chicken in the pan and continue to cook until the chicken has glazed and covered the chicken.
4. Remove the pan from heat, serve on a plate and drizzle any remaining sauce from the frying pan.
5. Serve the teriyaki chicken with boiled rice or salad leaves.

or if you're more of a visual creature just youtube how to make it XD

Thank you for the suggestion, vividlion! I'll definitely try it on my next visit to a sushi restaurant!

But honestly speaking it was only a while ago that I tried chicken teriyaki sushi, lol. Pretty good. But chicken teriyaki with rice or even spaghetti is rather popular here so chicken teriyaki sushi is not that special, so to say.

Everyone has a sushi they love phio for me it's the salmon avocado and prawn tempura, for other's it could be chicken teriyaki or the california roll.

I looooooove to make sushi in the home aswell because it really makes me feel happy when I see all my friends and family compliment on how good it looks and how well it tastes, it grows my passion for the food more and more.

I want to get good at making scallop nigiri, kanikama sushi (crab sick sushi for those who don't know) as I have a wide appreciation for Japanese food.

Even Gyoza, Ramen, including sukiyaki, yakitori, Tonkatsu, Shabu Shabu and many more!! soo dericious!! XD

My friends say I'm weird for hating sushi but everyone has their own conflicting opinions, it would be boring if everyone liked the same things. 😉

Well I can say I'm not a huge fan of pizza, but then again there are some pizzas I do enjoy eating like super supreme. That's as far as my love for pizza's go though.

So I can understand what you're saying Dreadlord.

Meh, sushi is okay. Sure its all trendy and hip, but it doesn't taste super amazing or anything.

Well everyone has an appreciation for different foods, sushi might not be for you, though I absolutely appreciate the different flavours, I tend to disagree where you say it doesn't taste super amazing, it sounds like you haven't tried quality sushi yet. I'm not talking about the stuff you see over the counter in the super market either.

Just had a grilled scallop nigiri, it was delicious!!!

idk how people can eat sushii

Well, I guess you just have to brave and try it at least once. I used to dislike sushi. I thought it was gross because most components are raw, or barely cooked, and not seasoned, and so on. But when I tried more there are good ones. And that's the charm of sushi indeed.

I gotta say because sushi has originated in eastern culture, most people in the western culture has an acquired taste for it.

anyone in the western culture looking to try sushi for the first time, there is RAW food in some sushi's which put people off it. but NOT all sushi's are made this way, try the tempura or teriyaki dishes, you will be more acquainted with these flavours, Sashime is an acquired appreciation.

The taste for me is crisp and fresh and very delicious, but then again everyone has different taste buds aswell. 🙂 so try what works for you, there is a sushi roll for everyone!

Sushi is alright but not my favorite kind of food to have. I do like Sushi rolls!

I love the Dragon rolls!
