To Win8 or not to Win8

Sadly it will not work on Windows 8, if you want the text to be readable.

You might be able to run Age of Empire 2 in a Windows XP or Windows 7 virtual machine with VirtualBox or VMware.

A Virtual Machine is a virtual version of an Operating System which is run inside another operating system.

Windows 8 PC with Secure boot can start up in under 8 seconds.

Windows 8 uses only 281MB RAM compared to Windows 7 which uses 404MB of RAM according to http://www.bit-tech.net/news/bits/2011/ ... indows-7/1 .Windows 8, might feel more responsive then 7 on computers with less RAM.

I think if you are planning to buy a budget computer with less RAM then Windows 8 would be better.

Get one now with Windows 7 because Windows 8 is not going to be a good OS unless your getting a touch screen computer. (Example: HP Touchsmart)

I've installed Windows 8 on my computer and it's really cool, some may not like it but i'm loving the new design.

Id avoid it, the reason i say this is because ive used the beta version and its nothing special, and the full release version will be no better. MS usually bring out a cracker followed by a let down, stick with 7..

I read online that Windows 8 is compatible with most hardware which is compatible with older Windows OS like 7, Vista, etc, and Windows 8 can run on computers with 1GB of RAM, and there are videos on YouTube of people running 8 on 512 MB of RAM.

I kind of like the App store since I no longer have to go to Download.com , SorceForge, and other similar download sites to search for programs to install.

A lot of operating systems like Mac OS X, Ununtu Linux, and Linux Mint already have a App Store also called the Software Center in Ununtu which makes searching, downloading, and installing programs/apps, and add-ons for programs like Java, Adobe Flash, and codecs a lot easier with a few clicks of the mouse.

The Modern touch desktop would be good for touch screen monitors like tablets, and would probably make Touchscreen monitors, and Tablets for Windows 8 more popular.

You can still click on the Desktop tile to go back into the classic Desktop except the Startmenu button is now gone which is unfortunate.

If this is true then I will be installing it on my laptop, however if I find that certain games aren't compatible I will not, however I will be testing it out on my Desktop.

I have also installed windows 8 trial on my pc. I don't bother what others say but its really cool and easy to operate. I am with it.
You must wait and then buy a one with win 8.
It will be better that you buy tochscreen comp. as it will be very simple to operate it.

Go for win 7 computer as you can get an upgrade for low price. Advantage is that, if you find win 8 not good or not upto your expectations you can run your system with win 7, if u find it good then you can upgrade.

Do you guys think there will be better Dual Monitor features? Such as the ones DisplayFusion offers?

It'd be nice to have a taskbar on both and have the backgrounds independent from each other without having to install third-party software.
