weed/marijuana and your views?

Nope, I never said all pot-heads were lazy, what I actually said was "most probably don't even know what day of the week it was".

I know loads of people who smoke it, hell I've even tried it myself in the past (so I know what it feels like) I see lads who live in my street wandering around, stoned out of their brains, slurred speech, red eyed, looking and smelling like crud....and the next day they don't even remember seeing or speaking to me?

It's such a sexy image..........

I voiced concerns that people may go on to another, more dangerous drug, but I didn't say that they were lazy.
Like was said before, the gateway drug theory can only exist because of the fact that marijuana is illegal. If your dealer also deals crack, you're more likely to be coaxed into trying crack, hence the "gateway". Also, people are also more willing due to the fact that when they start smoking weed they realize a lot of the stuff we've been told is gonna kill us really isn't all that bad for us. And like also stated before people don't just move onto heroin from weed for a stronger high... An opiate high is different from a cannabis high.

Well, you're wrong. The lads who live in your street wandering around stoned out of their brains were probably not using marijuana.

The only reason why it is illegal is because it is unhealthy and has a history of killing people. It might have something to do with the economy as well, but I'm not sure. The government is just trying to keep us alive so we can keep paying more taxes. I don't know if we should legalize it again, but I wouldn't want kids breathing in the fumes or whatever.

"it might have something to do with the economy too." I stopped there on this post. If the economy is in the shitter, it would make sense to legalize pot, so that it could be taxed.

Judging from your last two posts on debate topics (here and the abortion topic), I'm convinced you're clueless when it comes to politics.

Hahahhaha ha ha ... hahahah Name one time that weed and weed alone has killed a person...

You say unhealthy?? Wow I guess thats why it is used for cancer patients who do not eat as much as they should. Or for arthritis patents who need a something strong for their pain.

Read my post on the first page.

And guys don't be too hard on him... most people are brainwashed by the government this way. He just needs to learn the facts 🙂

@nextzone
I recommend you watch "The Union", a documentary that'll get you started on why marijuana is illegal in the states.

Ok next, if that's what you are looking out for, then let's ban alcohol, soda, smoking, candy, and anything that contains High Fructose Corn Syrup.

That's brilliant post for all the influential teens/pre-teens on the forum, I'm sure you're a great role model.

They are going to get introduced to it at some point in their life. There are much worse drugs out there than Mary Jane. I could be Americas Next Top Model.

Most teens will have tried it or smoke it anyway, and some pre-teens as well. Not saying it's a good thing, but it's the world.

Its man made which is why they died. It probably has crap like coke in it.

There is nothing safe about the term natural. A lot of dangerous things are natural, such as radioactive material and oil (do you really want to eat oil?)

Sure, that's true, but that doesn't mean in anyway that pot needs to be illegal.

Of course, but still, many on this thread have argued that man has to make something to make it a dangerous substance. That's not true.

If you legalise one drug like this, it'll simply move onto a different movement. People don't like being restricted.

It's not a drug. And yes, I mean if you're for having the government control everything you do then more power to you (well not heh), but most of us don't want lobbyists controlling what we can or can't do with our own bodies.

And for the record I don't believe in limitations like this of any sort. A junkie will shoot up if it's legal to or not, we're only supporting criminal organizations by keeping these substances illegal.

Marijuana will never be legal in the United States with the way our current government works. It's simply too damn profitable to keep it illegal. Too many lobbyists from competing industries, and without them our men in power wouldn't have such deep pockets.

For one thing, the pharmaceutical industry could never live with marijuana being legalized. After all, it's a natural plant that can't be patented, and that is exactly why they are against it. Marijuana has over 200 medical uses, and if the US government actually allowed more testing in its medical use more could possibly be found. Slightly modified THC such as Marinol is perfectly legal as a drug because it's changed just enough to be issued a patent. Even "anti-drug" organizations support openly support marinol - I mean how can it be wrong if it's FDA approved? After all it's not like Heroin and Meth were originally meant as medicine...

The Tobacco and Alcohol industries both would face giant losses with a new legal competitor in their market, if they didn't tap into it. Just look at some sponsors of big anti-drug organizations and they'll be at the top of the list. Cigarettes kill 400,000 Americans a year and alcohol kills 100,000... both because politicians make a **** load of cash through both industries.

Dealers and growers of marijuana themselves would hate for it to be legalized. They would never be able to compete with large corporations and marijuana's prices would plummet, leaving the drug trade industry crippled. Really the biggest blow to organized crime the world could ever do would be to legalize marijuana and drugs, and of course prostition, but that's a different matter.

The paper industry while one you might not have considered also factors in this. Industrial hemp that can't get you high has many uses like paper, fabric, and even fuel (Ford himself grew hemp). What a wonderful plant, right? For some reason though it's illegal to grow in the good ol' US of A, yet it's perfectly fine to buy from other countries where (some) reason is included in the law making process.

The prison business is booming and could never be better. We've got the highest prison population of the entire world, and our leaders are damn proud of it. Of that, in 2000 22% was for drug charges, a number that has without a doubt increased since the last census. Infact, the number of prisoners for violent crimes has decreased since our prison population grew dramatically, wonder why? The US has hundreds of privately owned prisons, guess who's sitting behind those bars, and guess who's paying for them.

Finally, "drug" (or more accurately marijuana) tests are a big business these days. Everyone from your employer to your mom is helping these companies cash in. "Drug" tests are inaccurate simply because most hard drugs like heroin will be out of your system in a few days, while marijuana is the one that stays. Basically, it's alright to do Heroin, but god forbid you smoke weed. Rapists and murderers are allowed to take out things like school loans while a convicted marijuana user can't... what kind of message is that?

It's just politics. No politician who has a good chance of being elected will support marijuana. The masses have been brainwashed one way or another since marijuana was made illegal in 1920. First, it was used as anti mexican propaganda. Nowadays the idea is marketed by calling marijuana a "drug" that has been made stronger since all the hippies used it. Whatever it is, it's brainwashing and was rooted in racism. Nixon himself said "every one of the bastards that are out for legalizing marijuana are Jewish".

Thats basically all from me for now on the matter. It's late and I'm tired as hell so there may be a few errors. I can source everything here if needed. Maybe one day we'll see justice, but for now we got to make the best of things and protect our rights as citizens. They can try to take them away, but we've just got to keep on fighting

really because it's already legal in California. But it should not be legal because now all those criminals that killed for marijuana are going to walk the streets and get high and kill more.
