What? I was with myfreeforum for half a year.

I find they are both very crap, myfreeforum display loads of ads on your forum, and IPBfree, the only thing i like on IPB is the smileys, and IPBfree display ads on your forum too, i think.

For my website i use website Tonight 4.2.0 and for the forum Freeforums.org.

I like Proboards the best, how customizable it is. I don't find it all that hard!
I don't currently have a Proboards forum on the go though, I'm using Invisionfree. I'm starting to get the hang of it XD

lol in my opinion.. Multi hosters are possibly the worst thing to happen to the forum world. Now any old sole can have a forum. Can i mention.... Who controlls your database with all your passwords on these forum hosts? lol they do -happy- ....

I would just suggest getting a free host and settling in with fantastico or learn how to do it all yourself. It's more rewarding then!

But as for worst......

Has to be close to any site with IPB 1.3 boards... GARRR they give me the shivers!

All passwords are hashed for security reasons so people can't get users passwords from the database and so on. The host doesn't know your users passwords same as i don't know all yours.

I'm with Lunarpages and they've been good so far. But I reallly think that PC-Core look very promising!

Regards Jason 🙂

Heheh alright for starters.. MultiHosts shouldn't be around in my view. Think about it. You don't control your own databases (which contain all your passwords! Fowler please note. There are scripts to decipher database code and get ALL your passwords), there is no FTP access (which means no control) so don't even think about custom mods. But the killer for me.. You display their ads to make them a MINT off your forum.. People need to learn how to get REAL hosting (ie a REAL Forum Host, with cPanel.. I could name a few but not going.. I just started one.. Not a MultiHost!!!! -roll- )

IF I was unable to do the simple task of creating a db and installing forum software... <-- If that happens please finish me lol

I would probably choose a phpbb3 new multihost such as http://www.hostingdelivered.com/ they have no ads either...

One more thing... STAY AWAY FROM IPB 1.3.. I can't stress this enough.. Put it this way.. IPB TRAWLED the internet and found EVERY LAST copy (to their knowlage) and made the people hosting the sites remove the download. They also, I think, have created a locked door when it comes to installing 1.3 (I have a copy that I got about 6 mnths ago). IPB is flooded with security flaws and backdoors. TRY and stay away if you can.. Really there is NOTHING wrong with phpbb..

I still say... Do it yourself and you will ALWAYS get more satisfaction

Thats My Two Cents!

Of all the forum software I ever used, I'd say a tie on Jcink and phpBB. They have an army system, rep system, money system, and so much more. phpBB is more organized, but I'd still say a tie.

It could be possible i think depending on how the passwords are encoded although i can't see why any host would go to the trouble of doing that as i don't see why they would need the users passwords.
