Windows 7

How is it epic fail? I have tried Windows 7, liked it but want to move to a MacBook. I shall of course keep my Windows laptop and continue using Windows 7 'til I get a license next year.

I think I am going to get Windows 7, just because of the new features, plus, it is suppost to consume less RAM to run. Should be good. 🙂

Smartest thing I have ever heard you say 🙂.

Really what OS you want to use it totally what you like better, i have tried out the RC and it is by far my favorite windows ever, so when it is finally released i will defiantly be purchasing it. In my opinion it is everything that vista was supposed to be 🙂

@Prumand it depends what your comparing it to, it will use less Ram than vista but not less than xp 🙂

@Traygon I love Mac's as well however they are just too expensive for me but if you can afford it i defiantly agree with you going out and getting a mac 🙂

I actually have a RTM version which is an "Official" version it's just not a version that's released to retailers >🙂

I think windows 7 is a big improvement over vista.

However it requires even bigger specs..

1gb ram min.? come on...

I can go and download opensuse and it doesn't need that freaking much ram...(Opensuse is arguably the biggest linux distro)

Anyways is it an improvement over vista, yes.

Is it better then xp,nope.

Windows 7 is a really good os. If you were lucky enough to try the betas then you'd know how much more improved it is over vista. and the prices have come down.

If you did a pre order you could have gotten and upgrade to home premium for $50
and the upgrade cd for 3 computers will cost 140 dollars. So look into 7 before you judge it so harshly.

Now is a great time to buy computers because they come with a free upgrade to Windows 7. I am looking at desktops and it is tempting..

I am running a dual boot of XP and Win 7 RC . I was sceptical at first but Win 7 has been great. It is everything that Vista should have been except that it works! This is something coming from me because I have been a diehard XP user and probably will still continue to use it on some of my other machines. I am running Win 7 RC on my gaming computer mainly for the DX10 support and once released I will install the final.

As far as the RAM it consumes....1GB is not squat anymore. RAM is cheap now days and there is no reason to be running less than 4GB (more than XP can use)

Exactly...MS did the same thing when they rushed to put out Millenium Edition (ME) Anyone remember what a disaster that was? They followed it up with XP and hit a home run.

Sometimes I think they release a messed up OS in order to stir more hype when they release the new and improved OS.

Yea it's kinda annoying how every other O.S. they make is crap...which makes a person iffy about Windows 8

 Yeah, you can bet that it will be a mess.

You can wonder how one can get it so wrong, for example - XP, a perfect OS in itself. How on Earth did they come up with Vista?! That's like having a Ferrari and then buying a Rover Metro.

I'm still using XP and I totally love it. I don't see a need in upgrading.
