phpBB3 information

Hopefully all the mod makers out there will follow the leader and make mods for 3.

I have a heavily modded board and would hate to loose any of the mods we have.

This is the second forum i've joined recently that uses phpbb3. I was never a fan of phpbb but i'm started to like it more and more.

Well, i didnt really understand it from the phpbb site, but from what i understood, you can't upgrade your phpbb2 forum to 3, only make a new phpbb3 forum.
Meh, i'll wait for it to fully release.

You can upgrade from phpbb2 to 3.
If you are going to I would wait until it is the main release.

You can upgrade from phpBB2 - 3 as f199 said and you have been able to do that since RC1 was released (Now on RC5). It is best to wait for the stable release though although you can do it now.

can someone give me a link or something?
i would really like to upgrade, but i dont know how...
Please help ~cry~

There is no guarentee that all hosts will allow this feature however as you are able to edit templates via the admin panel unlike phpBB2 where you couldn't some hosts my allow it.

Probably when they confirm one of the releases doesn't have any bugs in it.

Hoping the final release will be soon.

Just upgraded to RC5... hopefully won't be long now !

I have done my own testing with it a few weeks ago on a free host. (A site host, I had to manually install it.)

I do wish that the permissions were a bit easier, but after an hour, I understood it.

Oh, and I highly reccomend reporting any bugs found to phpBB, the sooner they get reported, the sooner the gold release is out.

I'm gonna stick to phpBB2 for a while. I am rather disapoionted HTML is useless in phpBB3, however.
