I dont know of any phpbb hosts that let you do that but jcink.com does.

I believe prophpbb.com allows free, unencrypted DB backups -😉-

Paid hosting is always better though, full control, no forced ads, add any kind of MOD or style you want etc.

I'll try thet PropHbb site... I'm with forumotion myself, but every Friday nite they are always doing updates and it's hard on me... especially if I have an update to make or something to edit. I'll give this one a shot. I'll still keep my forumotion site though... -D-

On second thought, I'll stay with forumotion... The updates drive me crazy, but they only do them on the weekends... so it's no big deal.

I only pay £2.99/month.

It's Alot better than free hosting.

Why not Vbulletin? It's much much much much better! xD

If you have enough donations it's easy to get it.

Alot of people can't afford it... It is hard to get donations so getting enough to buy vb and pay for hosting and the domain is hard to do.

vBulletin is alot more expensive, and alot of people want PHPBB for free as it's still a good software. -😉-

You can never beat free, and with phpBB not only is it free, its good software. I may switch to IPB one day for a larger site I have in planning, although it may never see the light of day, who knows. I will never, never, use vB. Its too stuffed with useless things youll never need. I dislike alot of the skins as well, too bulky.

Nothing really apart from some features since all forum softwares call it different.

There doesn't seem to be that many changes compared to the previous release so hopefully there won't be many conflicts.

I like PHPBB3, just I thought it was kinda of intimidating at first 🙁
